Bengali poet Hasan Al Abdullah has received Poland's 'Alfred Kowalkowski Award'. The award was presented to him by poet Dariusz Tomasz Labiada, president of the Bydgoszcz Writers' Union, at a special poetry reading ceremony held at the Literary House in Bydgoszcz, Poland, on Wednesday.

While presenting the award, Darius Tomas Labioda said, "Hasan Al is not just a poet; he is also a translator of world poetry. His translations from Bengali to English and from world poetry to Bengali have created a bridge between literature. This award is a recognition of that translation work."

Hassan Al Abdullah thanked everyone present after receiving the award. He said, "This is the fifth time I have come to Poland. Every year, I am honored in various ways here. I am overwhelmed to have earned the love of Polish poets."

It is worth noting that the poet Kowalkowski was the founding president of the Bydgoszcz Writers' Union, and this award was established after his death. On October 9, the poet traveled to Poland after being invited to the Ciechanów International Poetry Festival. He then attended the Bromow International Poetry Festival in the Czech Republic, where his poems were included in an anthology alongside those of ten other poets.

Poet Katarzyna Georgiou has translated Hasanal Abdullah's second book, "The Scatter Display of Limbs," into Polish. At least eight promotional poetry readings were organized in various cities across Poland throughout the month, including the Rawa Wisna Public Library, the Milis Public Library, the Dolny Barez Melini Restaurant, and the Wrocław Music and Literature Club.
