The 21st International Halal Showcase in Malaysia began today (Wednesday) (MIHAS). The four-day exhibition will continue until Friday, September 20. The Halal Showcase has been organized at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC).
The event, organized by the Malaysia Outbound Trade Development Corporation (Matrade), will be officially inaugurated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on September 19. The theme for this year's event is set as "Pinnacle of Halal Excellence."
Bangladesh has participated in this Halal Showcase for the fourth time. This afternoon, the Bangladesh Pavilion was inaugurated by Baby Rani Karmakar, Director General of the Export Promotion Bureau of Bangladesh. Acting High Commissioner of Bangladesh High Commission to Malaysia, Mosammat Shahanara Monika, was present at the event. In addition to Pran, Akij Food and Maitree of Bangladesh, there are booths for Jamdani, handicrafts, jute, ceramics, cosmetics, leather, screen care products, and a total of twelve booths, including two booths of the Bangladesh High Commission, to introduce Bangladesh's tourism and products to the world.
A statement from Mattrade said that 2,380 booths and international exhibitors from 1,019 companies from 80 countries, including Bangladesh, will participate in MIHAS 2025. The organizers are expecting the presence of about 45,000 visitors in the upcoming event. In addition to the exhibition, the event will also feature an In-Service Special Procurement Mission (INSP), Knowledge Hub Seminar, award ceremony and business dialogue opportunities.
An integrated exhibition space has been created to showcase halal food and beverages, medicines, medical devices, Islamic finance, fashion and lifestyle products, personal care, cosmetics, and Muslim-friendly tourism.
According to the organizers, MIHAS 2025 is not just an exhibition but a reflection of the commitment to quality, innovation, and international partnerships in the global halal industry.
In 2024, Mihas created a new milestone by recording sales of 4.3 billion ringgit.
