'Bangladeshi Television Journalists Association USA' debuts in New York

The Bangladeshi Television Journalists Association USA has been formed by Bangladeshi television journalists working in the United States. The committee was announced, with Farid Alam, the US bureau chief of NTV, as president, and SM Solaiman, the US correspondent of Independent Television, as general secretary.

The 11-member executive committee includes former NTV senior news presenter Shamsunnahar Nimmi (co-chairman), former Banglavision reporter Zahida Alam (co-general secretary), News24's US correspondent Arifur Rahman (organizing secretary), now TV's US correspondent MA Ahad (finance secretary), and executive members Sohel Mahmud (Probasi TV/RTV), Elias Hossain (15 Minutes/ETV), Sourav Imam (IBTV), Arifuzzaman Arif and Ahsan Palash, respectively.

In addition, three senior journalists have been appointed as advisors. They are prominent media personalities and news analysts, including Dr. Kanak Sarwar, President of the New York Bangladesh Press Club; Monowarul Islam, President of the America-Bangladesh Press Club; and Shahab Uddin Sagar, Editor of the weekly Naba Yug. 

Monowarul Islam, president of the New York Bangladesh Press Club, announced the name of the committee of the 'Bangladeshi Television Journalists Association USA' at a meeting held at a party hall in Jackson Heights, New York, on July 11. The organization was primarily formed by individuals who have worked for various television stations in Dhaka and are currently residing in the United States.
