The Bangla New Year, Pahela Baishakh, was celebrated in a joyful and festive atmosphere at the Razak City Residences Auditorium in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. The event turned into a lively and colorful cultural gathering with the spontaneous participation of Bangladeshis living abroad.

The event was organized and hosted by Afrin N Topi and the event management was done by Sumaiya Akhtar. The event was completed with the overall support of Bangladeshi Student Group Malaysia (BAGM).

A large gathering of expatriate Bangladeshi men and women, including students, businessmen, journalists, and others, participated in the festival. The day-long event featured captivating cultural performances, music, dance, poetry recitations, and a Baisakhi atmosphere in traditional costumes, which captivated everyone present.

The venue was adorned with attractive Baisakhi decorations and a lovely photo corner. The participants welcomed the New Year by spending a joyful time with family and friends.

Notably, the entire event was managed from start to finish through the 'Givento.app'. Students from the Faculty of Information Engineering, City University Malaysia, handled the registration, management, and coordination with technical expertise and professionalism. The event became more well-organized and effective through the use of this app they developed—a unique example of the fusion of technology and culture.

The organizers said that this event aims to preserve Bengali culture and tradition even in the diaspora and spread it among the new generation. They expressed hope to organize it on a larger scale and with international standards in the future.

The participants hoped that such an event would further strengthen unity, harmony and cultural bonds among Bangladeshis living abroad. May the new year bring happiness, peace and prosperity to everyone's lives—this was the wish expressed by everyone.
