The Bangla New Year was celebrated in a festive atmosphere in Dubbo, New South Wales, Australia. The event was organized by 'Orana Community Bangladesh Inc.' at the Club House in the beautiful Victoria Park on Saturday.
The event turned into a gathering with the spontaneous participation of people of different ages, including men, women, children, and teenagers, from the expatriate Bangladeshi community. Everyone was excited at this event, which was steeped in Bengali culture and tradition.
At the beginning of the program, a short speech was given welcoming the Bengali New Year. Then a delightful cultural program began. Various performances, including indigenous songs, dances, poetry recitations and children's participation, captivated the audience. There were various creative activities for the children, including painting, at the program.
On behalf of the organizers, Councilor Shibli Chowdhury said that the main goal of this event is to showcase Bengali culture and heritage to the new generation, even in the diaspora. He expressed hope that such events will continue in the future.
The event was coordinated by Amdadul Haque, Bushra Salahuddin, Kashfia Maharin Esha and others. Shuhariya, Nasrah, Mohammad Shafiqul Islam, Shamima Akhter, and Tamanna Azim Nisha participated in the cultural performance.
