Poet Himadri Roy's solo poetry evening, 'Kavitasnat Jiban,' was held at Toronto's Styled Space Event Studio, with the aim of not only entertaining but also helping children with special needs in society.
This humanitarian initiative brought a unique emotional response to the hearts of Bangladeshis living abroad. In the midst of the busyness of life abroad, such an event became a warm celebration of love and companionship.
The leaves of the trees gradually turn yellow and fall, bringing the message of the arrival of winter. At such a time, expatriate Bangladeshis were celebrating the 'Poetry-Scented Life' poetry festival in a different kind of gathering. The poems highlight the culture, history, tradition and Bengali identity of the present-day Bengal.
All proceeds from the admission fee for this event will be donated to the Geneva Center for Autism Foundation for the support and development of children with special needs.
The audience was mesmerized and captivated by this exceptional evening, wrapped in a series of poems. Each poem seemed to take them back to the nostalgic memories of their beloved homeland—with a deep pull of language, culture, and emotion.
Organizer, organizer and reciter Himadri Roy said, 'This is my effort to bring poetry to the people by loving words, standing by humanity, and darkening my voice. If you like it that much, that is my success.'
