A press conference was held on the occasion of the 'BAOA Annual Dinner and Cultural Night 2026' organized by the Bangladesh Association of Australia Inc. (BAOA). At the event organized at Dawat Restaurant in Ingleburn, Sydney at 5:30 pm on Sunday (June 21), leaders of the organization highlighted various aspects of the upcoming event.
The press conference was informed that the event, to be held on July 19, is being organized in a grand atmosphere with the aim of further strengthening Bangladeshi culture, tradition, harmony and multicultural spirit in the diaspora. Prominent figures from the community, representatives of various social and cultural organizations, businessmen, sponsors and a large number of expatriate Bangladeshis are expected to participate in it.
Cultural event coordinator Belal Hossain Dhali said that the program will feature small ethnic group dances, solo and ensemble dance performances by local artists, a half-hour street play 'Probasir Pankha', a solo musical performance by artist Mehedi Hasan, ensemble music, and a raffle draw.
Another coordinator, Md. Mubarak Hossain, said that various ministers, members of parliament and political leaders from mainstream Australian politics, as well as the Bangladesh High Commissioner and prominent figures from the Bangladeshi community, have been invited to the event. The final list of guests will be announced later.
The organization's president Monirul Haque George and general secretary Alamgir Islam said that a media cell will be formed soon to make the activities of BAOA more dynamic and informative. In addition, initiatives have been taken to publish a magazine as a souvenir of the organization and launch its own web portal. They expressed hope that the web portal will be launched before the cultural evening.
