The new committee of Doha Upazila Samity was inaugurated in New York

The inauguration of the new committee of the Doha Upazila Samity in the United States has been held. The newly elected officers of the organization were formally sworn in at a ceremony held at the Nabanna Party Center in Jackson Heights, New York City, on the evening of June 13.

Speaking at the event, Gias Ahmed, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Doha Upazila Samity, said, "The contribution of the people of Doha to glorifying the history and heritage of Bangladesh is undeniable. Such events are playing an important role in highlighting the heritage and importance of Doha abroad as well."

Board of Trustee member and freedom fighter Azad Hossain administered the oath to the newly elected officers. The event was presided over by prominent businessman Dulal Behedu, convener of the inauguration committee, and New York State Supreme Court Justice Soma S. Sayeed was the chief guest.

Mustafa Kamal Mukul has been elected as the president of the new committee and Rabiul Alam has been elected as the general secretary. In addition, senior vice president Shahinur Rahman Biplob, vice president Saifur Rahman Tutul, joint secretary Rahmatullah and treasurer Abul Kalam Azad Panir have taken charge.

The program concluded with a cultural performance hosted by popular expatriate presenter Sharmin Siraj Sonia. The program concluded with a dinner hosted by Nabanna Restaurant.
