'Victory Celebration-2025' was celebrated in Saskatoon, Canada, highlighting the spirit, history, tradition, and culture of Bangladesh's Victory Day.
The event was organized by the Bangladesh Community Association of Saskatchewan (BCAS) and was supported overall by the Bangladesh Student Association at the University of Saskatchewan.
The event began on Sunday (December 28) evening at the University of Saskatchewan's Education Building with the performance of the national anthems of Bangladesh and Canada. It included a discussion session, a special program featuring performances by expatriate Bangladeshi children, and an exchange of views with community members.
BKash President Arifur Rahman and General Secretary Md. Mahmudul Hasan Chowdhury expressed their determination to take the next generation forward in the vein of the victory of December 16, 1971. They thanked everyone present for helping to move the community forward, even in a hostile environment.
In addition to cultural performances, expatriates enjoyed various food and clothing stalls at the event. Organizers said that even if you are abroad, your country is always in your heart.
They highlighted the importance of teaching the new generation the history of Victory Day, the map of Bangladesh, and Bengali culture. The program, which began in the evening, was filled with the procession of expatriate Bengalis.
