A gathering of friends and family has been held in Sydney on the initiative of Ashiqur Rahman Ash, the newly elected Campbelltown City Councilor of Bangladesh origin.
The meet was held at Campbelltown Macquariefields Park on Sunday.
It was attended by the newly elected Mayor of Campbelltown City Council, Darcy Lound, Nathan Haggerty MP Member for Lappington, Shefali Pal, President of Campbelltown Chamber and Commerce, Councilor Masood Chowdhury, Councilor Eliza Azad, former Councilor Sabreen Farooqui, former Councilor Shah Zaman Titu and Councilor Sajeda Akhtar from all levels of the community. The guests at the event said that this gathering of Bangladeshis in Australia will inspire the new generation and strengthen mutual relations between them.
Councilor Ashiqur Rahman Ash expressed his sincere thanks and gratitude to all who came and said, "I am very happy to have all of you together." He expressed the hope of working together with everyone for the development of the community and strengthening the mutual bond between them.
