Penang Gladiators crowned expatriate cricket champions in Malaysia

The BD Expats Cricket Tournament, a cricket tournament for expatriates in Malaysia, has come to a close. The Penang Gladiators, a team comprising expatriate Bangladeshi players, emerged as champions in the tournament's final. The Putrajaya cricket team came in second. The final match was held at the UKM Cricket Oval near Kuala Lumpur on Monday afternoon.

Former Test captain of the Bangladesh national cricket team, Mominul Haque, First Secretary (Passport and Visa) of the Bangladesh High Commission Mia Mohammad Kiam Uddin, BDFC Advisor Dato Mohammad Mizan, Malaysian citizen University of Malaya Professor Dato Dr. Alias ​​Bin Abdullah and Asia School of Business Corporate Director Kritika Parmar were present as guests at the award ceremony after the final match.

Batting first in the final match, Penang Gladiators scored 232 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 16 overs. In the second innings, Putrajaya Cricket Team scored 124 runs for the loss of 10 wickets in 12 overs and 4 balls. Penang Gladiators won by 108 runs. Raihan Hossain scored the highest score of 61 runs for Penang Gladiators in 15 balls.

For Penang Gladiators, Maruf Muktadir took 3 wickets for 34 runs in 3 overs. For Putrajaya Cricket Team, Sajeeb Khan scored the highest score of 56 runs in 25 balls. Raihan Hossain was named Man of the Match in the final. Raihan Hossain of Penang Gladiators was also named Man of the Tournament.
