A T-20 tournament is going to be held in Malaysia with the participation of expatriate Bangladeshis. Cricket teams of expatriate Bangladeshis from different states of the country will participate in this tournament of 12 teams called 'BD Expat Championship Cricket Tournament-2025'. The tournament was officially announced by the president of the organizer, BD Sports Management Services, Md. Saif Uddin, at a press conference at Yahala Restaurant in the capital, Kuala Lumpur, on Friday (July 25). He announced that former Test captain of the Bangladesh national cricket team, Mominul Islam, will be present as a special attraction throughout the tournament to encourage the expatriate players.

It was informed at the press conference that extensive planning and preparation have already been completed for this tournament, which is being held for the first time. Responding to the invitation of the organizing committee, the High Commissioner of the Bangladesh High Commission in Kuala Lumpur, Md. Shamim Ahsan has expressed his intention to attend as the chief guest. At the same time, the organizing organization, BD Sports, has also maintained contact with the Malaysian Cricket Association. On the advice of the MCA, the entire tournament will be held at three international-standard venues in and around the capital, Kuala Lumpur. Experienced Malaysian umpires will be responsible for conducting the matches according to the ICC rules. The tournament will be held between August 30 and September 1.

From the press conference, those interested in participating in the tournament were asked to contact the authorities by August 15. In addition, the trophy for the champions and prize money of 3,500 ringgit or 1 lakh 5 thousand taka and 2,000 ringgit or 70 thousand taka for the runners-up were announced. In addition, special prizes have been kept for the best player in each game and the best player of the tournament.
