UPMISA Futsal Tournament Completed in Malaysia with the Participation of Six Countries

The UPMISA Futsal Tournament 2026, organized by the International Students Association (UPMISA), the Bangladeshi student organization of Universiti Putra Malaysia, was completed. International educational institution Hyperconnect was the tournament's title sponsor.

The organizers said that the tournament was organized with the aim of strengthening the bond between advanced education and the international student community. This year's event holds special significance in the history of UPMISA, as the tournament was completed under the leadership of the organization's first Bangladeshi female president, Adiba Ahmed.

Six countries—Bangladesh, Malaysia, Morocco, Libya, Nigeria, and Pakistan—participated in the tournament. Libya defeated Bangladesh 3-0 in the final to become the champion. Bangladesh finished as the first runner-up and Morocco as the second runner-up.

The overall responsibility of the tournament was held by Sports Secretary Nugraha Raihan and Awas Hasan Mahin. The event was hosted by Samira Siraj. UPMISA Advisor Ubaidullah Mohammad Badri was present as the chief guest. Special guests were Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) Badis Committee President Harini Barthihasaan, Bangladesh Students Organization Malaysia (BSOM) President Asadullah Al Ghalib Rabbi and Vice President Asif Rahman Bhuiyan.

Libyan player Ashraf was selected as the Man of the Tournament. At the end of the event, the organizers expressed their gratitude to the volunteers, participating teams, and spectators for their help in making the event a success.

According to the organizers, such international sports events play an important role in fostering mutual bonds, cultural exchange, and leadership development among students studying abroad, and such initiatives will create positive opportunities for students in the future as well.
