Bangladeshi arrested in New York for molesting minor

New York police have arrested a 72-year-old Bangladeshi man named Badiul Jamal on charges of harassing and assaulting a 12-year-old girl. 

The teenager was allegedly molested near 81st Street and 31st Avenue in the East Elmhurst area near Jackson Heights on Friday, January 6, at around 3:30 p.m. Badiul Jamal was arrested by police from the 115th Precinct on January 11. He has been charged with attempted indecent assault and aggravated assault of a female child in Queens Criminal Court. 

After the news was published in the widely circulated 'Daily News' newspaper of New York, along with Badiul Jamal's photo, various rumors arose in the community. The police have also informed that this Bangladeshi approached the girl walking. He grabbed her hand. The shocked girl was able to free herself. 

According to police, Badiul Jamal was not deterred and followed the terrified girl and grabbed her hand a second time. The man then walked north on 81st Street, where he reportedly lives. Badiul Jamal has been charged with first-degree harassment second-degree assault and lewdness. New York police have released a photo of Badiul Jamal.
