The Aim Initiative Foundation (AIF) organized a press conference at Celestia Production House in Calgary, Canada. Sufia Islam, the organization's education advisor and retired professor of East West University, read a written statement at the press conference.
He stated that AIF is working to improve the education, healthcare, and skills of the underprivileged communities in Bangladesh. One of the important initiatives of the organization is the “Sponsor a Child” program, through which wealthy and compassionate people of the society can directly help school children.
In this program, a donor can take full responsibility for a child's quality education, primary healthcare, and skill development by supporting Tk 1,500 per month or Tk 18,000 per year. Sufia Islam said, "This initiative not only helps in the personal development of a child, but also helps break the cycle of poverty of the entire family through education and opportunities."
After the press conference, a discussion and exchange of views was held with the Bangladeshi diaspora. The event was attended by Bangladesh Canada Association of Calgary President Iqbal Rahman, former president Abdullah Rafique, Celestia Production House CEO Dr. Gulshan Akhter, Engineer Zahid Alam, Minu Mainul, Rita Karmakar, Mushfiqur, Ranjan Nandi, Mou Islam, Zahid Haque, Bayazid Ghalib, and artist Zerin Taj, among other prominent figures from the community.
The speakers in the discussion stated that disadvantaged children are not inferior to their peers in any way; they are simply lagging due to a lack of the right environment and opportunities. If permanent facilities are created for neglected children, they will be the skilled citizens of the country in the future, who will play a major role in national development.
The speakers appreciated AIF's timely initiative in supporting children and expressed their commitment to join this effort.
