The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Malaysia branch organized a 'Probasider Milon Mela' (Meeting of Expatriates) event on the occasion of Independence Day and Eid-ul-Fitr in a festive atmosphere at the G Tower Hotel in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur. Organized by the initiative of BNP Malaysia and its affiliates, the event was attended by party leaders and workers as well as expatriates.
The event, held at the G Tower Hotel in Kuala Lumpur at around 4:30 pm on Sunday, began with recitation of the Holy Quran and prayers.
Then the national anthem and party anthem were played in turn. The second part of the program consisted of a discussion session and a pleasant cultural program at the end.
The chief guest at the event was Mohammad Nurul Islam Nayan, MP, MP, member of parliament from Bhola four constituencies and general secretary of Bangladesh Nationalist Youth Party. The event was presided over by BNP Malaysia President Engineer Badlur Rahman Khan. The entire event was moderated by BNP Malaysia branch office secretary Md. Aminul Islam (Ratan) and deputy office secretary AKM Habibur Rahman Shishir.
In his speech as the chief guest, Mohammad Nurul Islam Nayan said that after 17 years of struggle against dictatorship, the context of a new Bangladesh has been created.
BNP Deputy General Secretary Md. Kazi Salauddin delivered a welcome speech at the event. Other speakers at the event included Vice President Dr. SM Rahman Tonu, Joint General Secretary Dr. Oli Ullah Zahid, Fazlul Karim Sohrab, Jubo Dal President Md. Jasim Uddin, Organizing Secretary Russell Rana, Volunteer Party Member Secretary Shamsul Alam Helal Sikder, JASAS Convener Asaduzzaman Masum, and others.
Also present at the time were BNP Senior Vice President Mahbub Alam Shah, Vice President Dato Abdul Jalil Liton, Haji Zakirul Islam, Joint General Secretary SM Nipu, Jubo Dal General Secretary Md. Ramzan Ali, BNP leader Arif Bilat, General Secretary Shariful Islam Sharif, Chowkit BNP President Zahirul Islam Zahir, Bukit Bintang branch BNP President Anwar Selim, Klang BNP President Zakir Hossain, General Secretary Ismail Majumder, BNP leader Md. Arif, Engineer Shahjalal, Anwar Parvez, Emon Hasan, Jubo Dal Vice President Sheikh Mohammad Selim, Nazmul Hasan, Khalid Hasan Ripon, Senior Joint General Secretary Sultan Bin Siraj, Jubo Dal leader Miraj Majhi, Md. Mosharraf, Babu Sarkar, Volunteer Party leader Mozammel Haque Prodhan, Mosharraf Hossain Hridoy, Mahfuzur Rahman, Maruf Elahi, Palash Talukder, Chhatra Dal leader Tahmidul Gani Tajwar, Adib Anjum, Emon and a large number of leaders and activists of the organ and associate organizations.
The speakers emphasized the importance of restoring democracy in the country and upholding the spirit of Independence Day even while living abroad. At the same time, they appreciated the organization of this gathering to spread the joy of Eid among the expatriates. After the discussion meeting, the program ended with a grand cultural program with the participation of the expatriates.
