A discussion meeting was held on the occasion of Great Victory Day, to offer prayers for the health of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, and to discuss ways to motivate expatriates to vote by postal ballot, at the initiative of the Malaysia Kepong branch of BNP and its affiliates.
The event, which began at 7 pm local time on Tuesday (December 23) in a hall in the Kepong area, ended at 10:30 pm. The event, chaired by the Kepong branch BNP president, Md. Kamal Uddin Rana was chaired by the senior vice-president of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Malaysia branch and former vice-president of the Central Volunteer Party, Mahbub Alam Shah, as the chief guest. Malaysia BNP deputy general secretary Fazlul Karim Sohrab and prominent businessman and Kepong BNP general secretary Almas e Qadir Bepari were special guests.
In his speech as the chief guest moderated by Kepong BNP Organizing Secretary Ehteshamul Haque, Mahbub Alam Shah said that BNP always works for the expatriates. He said that the party's acting chairman Tarique Rahman is seriously committed to establishing the rights of expatriates and that commitment will be implemented if BNP forms the government. He called on expatriates living in various countries of the world, including Malaysia, to participate in postal voting and play a role in forming the democratic government of the future.
Also speaking at the event was Kepong branch BNP vice-president, Md. Ashraf, Kepong Jubo Dal President Shahid Sheikh, and General Secretary Md. Ratan, Kepong branch volunteer Dal, co-organizing secretary Al Amin, and labor affairs secretary Md. Jalal. Kepong BNP leaders and activists, including Md. Sayeed Rana, Md. Matiur, Md. Liton, Md. Farhad was also present at the event.
