The Chittagong University Alumni Association Australia (CUAA), an organization comprising former students of Chittagong University (CU) residing in Australia, has established its new executive committee. The committee was formed after the Annual Family Day 2025 event in Sydney on Sunday, October 19.
The event was attended by over 130 alumni, families, and well-wishers from across Australia. The day-long event featured cultural performances, exciting activities for children, alumni networking, and an awards ceremony for volunteers and founding members.
After the formal session, the new executive committee of CUAAA was announced for the next term. The new leadership pledged to further energize the organization, strengthen professional collaboration among alumni, work in support of Chittagong University students, and strengthen CUAAA's position in the Australian cultural scene.
The members of the newly formed executive committee are President. Abdus Sattar Khawaja, Vice President. Md. Ali Asgar (Founder Member), General Secretary. Masud Chowdhury, Assistant General Secretary. Salina Akhter, Treasurer. Mahmud Khan, Event/Cultural Secretary. Shayla Haque Tanju, Publication Secretary. Fazle Elahi Pradhan, Executive Member, Md. Rezaul Anwar, A.N.M. Nizam Uddin Chowdhury, Taufiqul Wahab Taufiq, Public Officer Azharul Haque Arif. In addition, four distinguished members have been appointed to the advisory committee. Shahid Bhuiyan, Mustafizur Rahman, Shamsuzzaman Shamim (Founder Member), and Ashiqur Rahman (Founder Member).
In a statement, the new committee expressed gratitude to all the alumni, volunteers, and well-wishers who participated in the event, stating that they will organize more meaningful initiatives, educational programs, and family-centered community events in the future.
The statement further said that the Chittagong University Alumni Association Australia (CUAA) is entering its new chapter with a commitment to unity, harmony and service to the Chittagong University family in Australia.
