Crowds gather for Durga Puja in Canada

The biggest religious festival of traditional religions, the autumn Durga Puja, is underway in various cities in Canada. People from different classes and professions, as well as foreigners, are participating in this festival.

On the evening of Saptami, thousands of people gathered at the premises of the 'Bangladesh Hindu Cultural Society and Hindu Temple' in Toronto, Canada. Especially in the evening, hundreds of devotees were attracted by the charm of the Dhunchi dance and the smell of incense spread a wave of joy.

The auditorium was filled to the brim for the cultural program. Nearby, the distribution of prasad at Ananda Bazaar was a moment of reminiscence as devotees prayed for world harmony and reminisced about the festivals of Bengal in the present day.

On behalf of the organizers, Shri Shibu Chowdhury and Shri Swapan Purkayastha stated that they expect a gathering of more than 5,000 devotees for the five-day Shardiya festival.
