New RU Alumni Committee and a bustling banquet in the United States

A new convening committee has been formed for the Rajshahi University Alumni Association, an organization of former students of Rajshahi University (RU) in the United States. The 13-member committee was formed with Fatenur Alam Babu as the convener and Md. Asaduzzaman as the member secretary.

The committee was announced at a banquet held at Gran Island Park in Westchester, near New York City, on August 9. The new committee was formed by dissolving the old committee with the consent of the organization's advisor Abdur Razzak Khan and other advisors. This initiative is aimed at further activating the organization's activities.  

Under the overall coordination of the new committee, more than two hundred Rabbis from different cities gathered for this year's banquet in the natural setting of Grand Island Park on the shores of Long Island Sound. 

During lunch, the entire event turned into a gathering of Motiharites. The atmosphere was filled with meeting each other after a long time of busy life abroad, exchanging greetings and reminiscing. Many people were filled with memories of those golden days of university life.

In the late afternoon, New York band artists Rashed Hira and Fabiha Nisa performed music. After the cultural program, a football competition for boys and a pot-breaking competition for girls were held. The participants and the audience were very enthusiastic about the competitions.

Abdur Razzak Khan, Muhammad Fazlur Rahman, Professor Husne Ara Hasi, Syed Abdur Rahim Dudu, Ali Hasan Kibria Anu, Saidur Rahman Don, Shahin Khan, Masudul Islam Lipu, Kaisar Ali and Monir Ahmed, Shafiqur Rahman, Ivy Rahman and Kushtia District Association President Ashraful Alam were present at various programs throughout the day.

The final phase was marked by prize distribution and a large raffle draw. During the welcome speech, emphasis was placed on strengthening mutual communication, brotherhood and unity among the former students of Rajshahi University abroad. At the same time, everyone expressed their determination to further expand and accelerate the activities of the organization in the future.
