NTV Pitha Festival-2025 was held in Malaysia under the initiative of Bangladeshi students at Universiti Putra Malaysia.
Expatriates from various social classes and professions attended the Pitha festival, held at the G-Tower Hotel's ballroom in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday afternoon, along with students.
The Pitha Festival, organized to preserve the roots, traditions, and culture of Bengalis even while living abroad, has become a gathering.
At the festival, entrepreneurs and students displayed nearly a hundred traditional pithas of various flavors and shapes. They showcased the rural culture and food traditions of Bengal through pithas.
The event was organized by the Bangladeshi Students Association of Universiti Putra Malaysia (BSAUPM).
International Islamic University student Md. Zubair Hossain moderated the program, chaired by BSAUPM Senior Vice President Rashni Umaiya Gazi. Popular Bangladeshi film actor Omar Sunny, film actresses Shimla and Suba, singer Tamanna Haque, and Bangladesh Community Press Club Vice President and NTV Staff Correspondent Kaiser Hamid Hannan were present as special guests.
The Pitha festival was also attended by the organization's advisor SM Ashibur Hasnat Sadi, president Imran Farhad, UPM students, and committee members from BIAM, BSOM, and BSUM.
Students from more than 30 universities in Malaysia attended the NTV Pitha Festival. The event included awards for the special contributions of expatriates in Malaysia and the activities of various organizations.
This festival of Bangladeshi food, culture and social gathering created a lively atmosphere among the expatriate Bangladeshis. Everyone present appreciated the event and called for its continuation in the future.
Bangladeshi students studying at various universities in Malaysia performed songs and dances at the cultural program.
