BLCA celebrates fifth anniversary in Sydney

Bangladesh Ladies Club Australia (BLCA), one of the leading organizations of expatriate women in Australia, organized a day-long, colorful Meena Bazaar to mark its fifth anniversary.

The day-long event, held at the Orion Centre in Campsie, Sydney, on Sunday (August 16), featured the national anthem, cultural performances, a fashion show, poetry, singing, and dancing.

The program began with the rendition of the national anthems of Bangladesh and Australia. The Holy Quran was recited by Aqsa Haque Afra. Child artist Remo Ghosh recited from the Holy Gita. During the program, a minute of silence was observed in memory of those who died in the plane crash at Milestone School and College in Bangladesh.

The cultural segment of the program was hosted by Nusrat Jahan Smriti and Fahima Sattar. Children artists performed songs and fashion shows. Participants included Abidur Sayad, Zayna Jafrat, Roqayat Sara, Jawad Sarkar, Jajib Ali, Sajib Ali, Remo Ghosh and Aksa Haque Afra

Poetry was recited by Nazneen Rekha, Malay Biswas, Rajeswari Mrionmayee and Majnun Mizan. Songs were performed by Nabila Srotswini and Tabasum Jalil Chowdhury, Soumik Ghosh, Atlantik Riddha and Amiya Matin.

Sudipta, Priyanka, Mita and Arpita from Nataraj Dance Academy and Parashi, Nir, Aida, Adrita, Prabhu, Samanta and Rishita from Som Dance School participated in the dance.

Kamrun Chowdhury Linda hosted the guest episode. The event was attended by Sophie Katsis MP, New South Wales Minister for Industrial Relations and Occupational Health and Safety. Councillor Karl Saleh, Deputy Mayor, Canterbury Bankstown City Council, Councillor Masud Chowdhur,y and Councillor Ashiqur Rahman Ash, Campbelltown City Council, Community Leader Shafiqul Alam, Sheikh Shamimul Haque, Tanvir Shahid, Director, International Recruitment, Macquarie University.
