A Bangladeshi national named Mirza Fahim Ahmed died in a road accident on his way to work in Los Angeles, USA. The accident occurred at 7:53 am on Wednesday at the intersection of Lassen Street and Reseda Boulevard in the Valley area.
Los Angeles police, after reviewing CCTV footage, said that Fahim's car veered off the road and hit a light pole, causing the front of the car to shatter. Police and firefighters had to work hard to rescue Fahim, who was trapped inside. He died at the scene of the accident.
The drivers of the other two vehicles were also injured in the accident and have been admitted to the hospital.
According to family sources, Fahim, son of Mirza Rabiul Alam Babu of 22/2 Tallabagh, Jhikatla, capital Dhaka, came to the United States with his parents and brother a year and a half ago. Fahim went to the country during the last Eid-ul-Azha and got married.
Fahim's younger brother Mirza Tamim said that Fahim's body will be handed over to the family on Saturday, July 11. The funeral and burial schedule will be announced after that.
Mirza Tamim also mentioned that they have appointed lawyers to prosecute those responsible for the accident. The police have also started an investigation.
