PDI Canada celebrated May Day in Toronto to demand fair wages, safe working conditions, job security and guaranteed healthcare. Progressive Democratic Initiatives (PDI) Canada celebrated May Day at Hope United Church in Danforth, Toronto. 

The first part of the event was a discussion meeting and the second part was a cultural program. The organization's president Azfar Syed Ferdous presided over the program. PDI Canada's associate general secretary Solaiman Talut Robin moderated the program. 

Bidyut Ranjan Dey, Mahbub Alam, Sarah spoke in the first part. Ontario Provincial Parliament MP, NDP leader Dolly Begum, Communist Party of Canada comrade Drew Garvey spoke at the program. Leaders of various left-wing parties based in Canada from Afghanistan, Iran, Chile and Sudan were present. 

The speakers said that in memory of the workers' movement in Chicago in 1886, the working class all over the world has been observing this day as a day of victory for workers and a day of achieving their rights. The working class is still fighting all over the world for various demands including decent wages, working environment, standard of living, etc.

In the second phase of the event, Ahmed Hossain, Farzana Baby, and Rowshan Jahan Urmi recited in the cultural program. The party recitation was performed by the recitation organization Bachnik, Sumon Malik, and Marzia Afroz. At the same time, the dance performance was conducted by the dance group Sukanya led by Aruna Haider and the Tapas Dance Academy led by Tapas Deb. Solo music was performed by Asif Chowdhury, M. Atiq Islam, and Sadman Shakib Swapnil. Finally, artists from Bangladesh Udichi Shilpi Gosthi and Canada Parliament performed the party mass song.
