A two-day special consular service program is underway for Bangladeshi expatriates in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. A delegation from the Bangladesh High Commission in Ottawa, Canada, is providing various consular services, including e-passport, No Visa Required (NVR), birth registration, power of attorney, and various document authentication. More than 1,000 Bangladeshi expatriates will avail the services through this initiative.

The event, which began on Saturday, will conclude on Sunday, Canadian local time.

Bangladesh High Commissioner to Canada Md. Jasim Uddin was present at the event organized at the invitation of the Bangladesh Canada Association of Calgary.

Other members of the delegation included First Secretary of the Bangladesh High Commission in Ottawa Md. Mohiuddin Muhid, Second Secretary Md. Nur-e-Shahan Raj, and other officials of the High Commission.

The president of the Bangladesh Canada Association of Calgary and other leaders of the organization were present at the time.

The spontaneous participation of Bangladeshi expatriates in this two-day service program was remarkable. Not only from Calgary, many from other provinces of Canada also came there to receive necessary consular services. The participation of expatriates from distant cities highlights the importance and demand for such service programs.

The organizers and service providers said that the main goal of this initiative is to make services related to government documents, including passports, easily available to expatriate Bangladeshis and to make the process of receiving services faster and smoother. Organizing such services at the local level reduces the suffering of expatriates who have to travel to distant places to complete necessary tasks.

Those concerned believe that such initiatives will play an important role in strengthening Bangladesh's diplomatic and institutional ties with expatriate Bangladeshis and providing them with necessary consular services.

It is worth noting that during this two-day event, more than 1,000 expatriate Bangladeshis will be provided with various types of consular services.
