The Malaysian Immigration Department arrested 101 people in two separate raids in Shah Alam and Puchong on August 26. The first raid at a recycling factory in Shah Alam arrested 36 Bangladeshi men who were believed to be working without valid passes. The second raid at an entertainment complex in Puchong arrested 65 people, including a foreign woman who was arrested for allegedly misusing her visitor's pass as a 'customer companion' and two locals for allegedly harbouring illegal immigrants.

All those arrested are suspected of violating the Immigration Act 1959/63 and the Immigration Regulations 1963. The Immigration Department is committed to protecting national security and will not compromise with any party violating immigration laws.
