96 people, including Bangladeshis, detained at Croatia border

Bosnia and Herzegovina border police have detained 96 migrants, including Bangladeshis, while trying to illegally enter Croatia. 

They were detained in two separate incidents during a border surveillance operation on Wednesday (September 1).

Officials said on Thursday that 63 people were detained from two boats near the village of Bistritsa on Wednesday afternoon. Among them were 40 Pakistanis and 23 Bangladeshis. At the time, two of the men were suspected of being human traffickers. Later in the evening, 33 more people were detained in the same area.

Among them are 18 Afghans, 13 Bangladeshis and two Pakistani citizens. The Foreigners Affairs Service's Banja Luka Field Center has been informed about the detainees.

Border police said the incidents are under investigation.
