Determined to engage the generation growing up in America with Bengal and Bengali culture, an incredible scene unfolded on Saturday, June 28, in the presence of thousands of enthusiastic young people at Upper Derby Park adjacent to the city of Philadelphia.

Expatriates from different parts of Pennsylvania flocked to the day-long Baisakhi Fair, held in an environment full of natural beauty. In his speech as the chief guest at the gathering, prominent social worker Md. Abdul Kader Mia expressed his gratitude and said that if the horizon of mutual cooperation is expanded, the path to fulfilling the American dream will be smooth. And that is why the generation born and raised in this multi-ethnic society must be more involved in such events.

Mahbubul Alam Tayyab, the chief coordinator of the Baisakhi Mela organizing committee and Mayor of Milbourne Borough, congratulated the large attendance and said, the people of the area are so compassionate towards the language and culture of their beloved motherland that they have come to the fair with their families despite unbearable hardships. Not only that, many people, including the elected senator of this state, the deputy mayor of Philadelphia City, and the mayor of Upper Derby have come to this event for expatriates. If this bond of harmony among all can be kept intact, Bengalis will be able to show more success shortly.

The Democratic Party mayor also said, "We must remain united in the election battle."

Pennsylvania State Senator Tim Kearney praised the hard work of the expatriates, saying that they are not only continuously contributing to the welfare of Upper Derby or the City of Philadelphia, but are occupying a special position in the entire America. Senator Tim Kearney specifically mentioned that the activities of the Bengalis have impressed me so much that now I have become accustomed to Bengali food.

At this time, Philadelphia City Councilwoman at Large Dr. Nina Ahmed and Upper Derby City Mayor Edward Brown, in their respective speeches, urged the diaspora to participate in the upcoming elections on a large scale. They commented that their path to prosperity would be easier if they could give victory to their preferred candidate.
