The aesthetics of the event captured everyone's hearts. The presence and enthusiasm of the audience were remarkable. It added a completely different dimension to the stage drama in New York. The three-day drama festival organized by Kristi had a vibrant atmosphere, which captivated the drama lovers. The festival featuredthe successful staging of six plays, seminars, drama songs, and much more.
For the first time in New York, 'Kristi USA' organized a three-day theater festival. This theater festival was held at the Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning (JCAL) building. The festival was inaugurated on Friday, June 27 by ITI Bangladesh President and renowned theater translator Professor Abdus Selim. Courtney France, Artistic Director of JCAL, was the special guest. Kristi dedicated this festival in memory of the late theater worker Ishrat Nishat.
Two prominent figures of Bengali drama living in New York were honored at the inaugural ceremony. They are Rekha Ahmed and Mujib Bin Haque. Other guests at the event included Rokeya Rafiq Baby, Masum Reza, Mithun Ahmed, Dr. Babul Biswas, Swapna Kawsar, Titu Gazi, Abir Alamgir, Khairul Islam Pakhi, Momena Chowdhury, Nazrul Islam, Mujib-Bin Haque, and Mohammad Kabir. Kristhi founder Sitesh Dhar delivered a welcome speech.
After the inauguration of the drama festival by lighting the Mangal Pradeep, a diverse performance titled "Dankara Gaan" was held under the direction of Dr. Jibon Biswas. Later, Psychosis and The Game were staged.
On the second day of the festival, playwright and poet Badruzzaman Alamgir read the main article in a seminar titled "Bangla Nataker Chena Achena Abhimukh". In addition, two plays named "Tin Mataler Kand" and "Sankatte Shaitan" were also staged on the day.
On the last day of Sunday, June 29, eminent playwright and director Masum Reza spoke in a special episode in memory of the late theater personality Ishrat Nishat. Two plays named 'At Dusk' or 'Godhuli Belaya' and 'Hamlet and Ophelia' were staged.
Kristi's lifelong hero, Sitesh Dhar, gave the closing speech, thanking everyone who had participated in the play, the audience, and the listeners. At the same time, he also expressed his gratitude to those who helped in this organization.
