A large protest rally was held in the French capital, Paris, on Saturday (March 28) afternoon to demand an end to the ongoing violence in Gaza and a permanent ceasefire.
The demonstration, which was organized as part of a nationwide program, was attended by human rights organizations, labor unions, political parties, and a large number of ordinary people. The gathering began at around 2 p.m. in the historic Place de la Bastille area and later turned into a rally. The demonstrators carried banners and placards with slogans such as "Stop the genocide in Gaza" and "Justice for Gaza."
Amnesty International France volunteers, carrying yellow vests and banners, also participated in the protest, as did the Franco-Palestinian Solidarity Organization, various labor unions, teachers and public service organizations, left-wing political parties, the French Communist Party, Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) groups, and French-Jewish peace organizations.
Speakers at the rally called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, ensuring humanitarian access to the besieged territory, and protecting the rights of Palestinians in accordance with international law.
Organizers said the protest was organized to mark the 'Palestine Solidarity' program and "Land Day."
