A young expatriate from Comilla was killed in a road accident in Saudi Arabia.

A young Bangladeshi expatriate from Comilla, Tofail Hossain (32), has been killed in a road accident in the city of Al-Baha, Saudi Arabia.

Ataur Rahman, a relative of the deceased, confirmed the matter on Wednesday (July 15) morning.

The deceased, Tofail Hossain, was the son of the late Rafiqul Islam of Nagaish village in Shashidal union of Brahmanpara upazila of Comilla.

According to family sources, Tofail went to Saudi Arabia about nine years ago in search of a livelihood. He was working at a hospital in Al-Baha city under the Al-Zahrain Company.

Relatives said that on the night of July 13, around 1 am Bangladesh time, while returning to work after breakfast, a speeding car hit him from behind. He was seriously injured. Later, locals rescued him and admitted him to a nearby hospital. He died there around 4 am Bangladesh time while undergoing treatment.

Tofail's sudden death has cast a shadow of grief over his family, relatives and the area. The relatives have sought the cooperation of the concerned authorities to quickly bring his body home for burial.
