Shakil had migrated to London with the hope of a new life and the firm determination to stand on his own feet. But before the year was over, this young student had to return home as a corpse.

Shakil died after being seriously injured in a road accident on Commercial Road in East London on Monday night (January 19) local time in London.

Earlier, on Wednesday (January 14) afternoon, while riding his bicycle on Commercial Road in east London, a private car driver suddenly opened the car door, knocking Shakil to the ground. After battling death for two days, he finally gave up last Friday night. A bright light of life went out at the age of just 25.

Shakil is the eldest son of Fazlul Haque, a resident of Banigram village in Kanaighat upazila of Sylhet. He went to the UK on a student visa about a year ago. Along with his studies, Shakil worked as a food delivery boy for some time.
