The body of a Bangladeshi killed in a fire in the Maldives arrives in the country

The body of one of the five Bangladeshis killed in a cooking gas cylinder explosion at a guesthouse in the Maldives has arrived in the country. His body was handed over to his family on Sunday.

The Bangladesh High Commission in the Maldives said that the body of Md. Sadar Ali, one of the five expatriates killed in a fire in the Maldives, was sent to his family in Dhaka today with the assistance of the High Commission. 

Family members, officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment were present when his body was received at Dhaka airport.

It is worth noting that five Bangladeshi expatriates died and two others were seriously injured in a tragic cooking gas cylinder explosion at a guest house on Dhigurah Island, about 100 kilometers from the capital of the Maldives, Male, on Thursday night. 

A total of seven people were rescued from inside the guest house with serious burns after the explosion. Five of them later died while undergoing treatment.
