The joy of Eid does not stop abroad, either. On Sunday evening, the Bangladeshi expatriates in Minto, Sydney, organized a lively Eid reunion-'Eid Ananda-Adda'-at the new venue 'Minto Kitchen' in the Minto area. About half a thousand expatriates attended the grand gathering.
This event, which aims to share the joy of Eid despite the busyness and distance of expatriate life, is dedicated to the newly arrived Bangladeshi students. The organizers said that the event aims to convey the tradition, culture, and family warmth of Bangladesh's Eid celebration to the new generation growing up abroad and the newly arrived students.
The event included a dinner. Sacrificial meat, traditional desserts, jilapi, soft drinks, and hot tea were served. The Eid festivities were filled with noise, laughter, selfies, lively chats, and captivating live music performances among acquaintances and strangers.
Later in the evening, Russell Islam, Tanvir Howlader, Abdullah Al Mamun, Nazrul Islam, and Shuvo Sathi performed live music on stage.
The overall management of the event was assisted by Bangladesh Community Southwest, Minto Kitchen, Host Engelburn, and numerous well-wishers living abroad.
Masud Parvez, one of the representatives of the organizing committee, said, "This is a unique experience of forgetting the pressures and distances of expatriate life and finding yourself. We want everyone to feel like they are part of a family even in exile."
Notable among the organizers were Ibrahim Khalil Masud, Mohammad Anisul Haque, Mohammad Nurul Masud, Azmi, Yasir Ahmed Sabuj, Shamsul Alam, Mohammad Rezaul Hasan Shopan, Monir Dewan, Mahmud Emon, Tanvir Howlader, Mamun Reza, Ashraful Alam Roni, Rashid Mamma, Mohibul Mujib, Reza Khan, Mohammad Mostafa Helal, Arifur Rahman, Moin Sabbir, Mahmudul Hasan, Mohammad Sami Abdullah Al Mamun, and others.
This festival was not just a reunion, but also a wonderful opportunity for the participants to relive the spirit of Eid and social bonds in Bangladesh, even while abroad.
