Bangladesh flag at the world's largest rodeo show, the 'Calgary Stampede'

The world's largest rodeo show, 'Calgary Stampede,' is underway in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The entire city of Calgary is bustling with the hustle and bustle of tourists and expatriate Bengalis from different countries. 

The traditional Calgary Stampede first began in 1912. It is iconic of the history, heritage and cultural identity of Calgary, famous for its cowboys. This year, the 10-day Stampede will begin on July 3 and continue until July 13. This is the first time that Bangladesh is representing the Calgary Stampede Parade in this grand, big-budget festival.

Under the initiative of Bangladesh Canada Association of Calgary, a large number of expatriate Bangladeshis showcased the country's history, heritage and culture through an art exhibition at Curzon Hall of Dhaka University, Shaheed Minar, Savar National Memorial, and the Royal Bengal Tiger. During this time, the national flag of Bangladesh caught the attention of millions of viewers around the world.

The organizers of the Bangladesh Canada Association of Calgary said, "Bangladesh has its own cultural heritage. We are taking this initiative to showcase our history, tradition and culture to the world and also to integrate our new generation with foreign culture. We hope that our new generation will retain our culture for generations to come."
