Saddam Azlan Salim (36), a native of Noakhali and Virginia State Senator (District 37) since 2024, has entered the race for the Democratic Party nomination from Congressional District 7. Bangladeshi American Saddam Salim mentioned at the beginning of his election campaign on Monday that he is leaving the State Senate and running for Congress for a healthier, safer, and more affordable Virginia.

It is noteworthy that Saddam, a hard-working and talented man who grew up in a very poor family, defeated Senator Chap Peterson, who had been elected for 16 years, in the November 2023 election for the State Senate District consisting of Fairfax County, Fairfax City, and Falls Church City, adjacent to the US capital, Washington, DC.

Saddam Salim wants to win the upcoming midterm elections of Congress by climbing the ladder of excellent relations with the grassroots. At the beginning of the campaign, he said that the public life of the United States has been poisoned by the various activities of President Trump, democracy is in danger today and the existing image internationally has also become shaky. There is no alternative to young leadership like him to make Virginia and the entire United States safe from this situation.
