A courtesy call and exchange of views was held with Bangladesh High Commissioner to Malaysia Manjurul Karim Khan Chowdhury and leaders of the new committee of the expatriate journalists' organization 'Bangladesh Community Press Club Malaysia' (BCPM).

At a discussion meeting held at the embassy's hall on Friday (July 17) morning, leaders of the press club highlighted various problems faced by expatriates.

High Commissioner Manjurul Karim Khan Chowdhury said, "We need to be a little careful while spreading news from Malaysia to Bangladeshi media and social media. Malaysia is the host country. We need to be careful not to hurt their sensitive areas; we need to be careful not to hurt any of their (Malaysian) institutions or people." At the same time, he urged to pay attention to various other aspects of bilateral relations besides the labor market.

High Commissioner Manjurul Karim Khan Chowdhury emphasized on ensuring the involvement of Bangladeshi workers in the social security initiatives taken by the Malaysian government, including insurance for foreign workers.

He extended his best wishes to the newly formed executive committee of the Bangladesh Community Press Club-Malaysia. He said, "Just as Malaysian expatriate journalists work as bridge builders between the people of the country and the expatriates, they are also working to build bridges between the embassy and the expatriates. I wish you further excellence in your journalism practice."
