Begum Khaleda Zia's funeral held in Malaysia

A private funeral procession for the late BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Begum Khaleda Zia, was held in Malaysia. The funeral procession was held after Asr prayers at the Kotaraya Bangla Mosque in the Bangladeshi-dominated capital Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday. The BNP Malaysia branch organized the program.

Leaders and activists of the BNP and its affiliates, as well as affiliated organizations, including individuals from diverse walks of life and professions within the expatriate Bangladeshi community, participated in the funeral prayer. They prayed for the forgiveness and peace of Khaleda Zia's soul.

The funeral prayers and prayers were led by Bangla Mosque's Khatib Maulana Hafez Helal Uddin.

Jasim Uddin, Pandamaran BNP President Khandaker Monirul Islam, Bukit Bintang BNP President, Anwar Hossain Selim and leaders and activists of other branches and associate organizations.

Meanwhile, at the same time, Begum Khaleda Zia's funeral was held in absentia at the neighboring India Mosque by the Bangladesh Nationalist Youth Party and after Maghrib prayers at Surao Baitul Mukarram, the Bangladesh Nationalist Workers' Party Malaysia branch. In addition to the leaders and workers of the Youth Party and the Workers' Party, a large number of ordinary Muslims also participated in both the funerals.
