Embassy warning for Bangladeshis in Saudi Arabia

The Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh has urged Bangladeshi expatriates living in Saudi Arabia to exercise utmost caution in dealing with criminal complaints. At the same time, the embassy has instructed to refrain from detaining or physically torturing anyone on their own initiative based on the complaint.

The embassy announced this information in a statement released on Monday (July 6).

The notice states that if a person suspects that they are involved in a crime or sees a crime being committed, they should immediately report it to Saudi Arabia's law enforcement agencies. If necessary, they are advised to contact the emergency hotline number 999 or 911.

The embassy also said that detaining or physically torturing someone, even if they are accused of a crime, is considered a serious crime under Saudi Arabian law. Everyone is urged to be vigilant in this regard.

The notice has requested all Bangladeshis residing in Saudi Arabia to comply with local laws and exercise utmost caution in such matters.
