The Bangladesh Embassy has warned Bangladeshi tourists against traveling to areas affected by the ongoing heavy rains, floods and landslides in Nepal. The Bangladesh Embassy in Kathmandu issued this warning message through  a Facebook post on Sunday night.

The warning message states that all Bangladeshi tourists and trekkers are urged to be cautious when traveling to areas affected by the ongoing heavy rains, floods, and landslides in Nepal and to refrain from traveling until the weather and overall situation improves, considering the situation.

Extra caution is required, especially in Pisang, Chame, Manang and nearby tourist areas. Landslides and snowfall due to continuous rainfall have disrupted road connectivity in many places. The rugged terrain and disrupted communication system have made rescue operations extremely difficult.

It is worth noting that the authorities have already suspended trekking in various areas of Manang, including Tilicho Lake, Thorong La Pass, Ice Lake, Kang La and Bhimthang.

In addition, caution is advised when traveling to Pokhara and surrounding areas as landslides have disrupted road connectivity and travel to nearby trekking destinations. It is important to be aware of the various road connectivity in the Gandaki region before traveling to Mustang, Jamsam and other hilly areas as these road systems may be disrupted for an instant.

For this reason, Bangladeshi citizens are advised to verify all information and closely follow the instructions issued by the Nepalese government and local authorities before planning trekking, mountaineering and travel in various mountainous and landslide-prone areas, including the Annapurna, Manang, Mustang and Manaslu regions.

Bangladeshi citizens who are already traveling to disaster-prone areas are advised to stay in safe places, avoid riverbanks and landslide-prone areas, check road and weather conditions before traveling, and maintain regular communication with travel operators and embassies.

The embassy is monitoring the situation, including maintaining contact with Nepalese authorities, and will release further updates as needed.
