Emirates offers a last chance to leave the country without fines or become legal

The country's Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security (ICP) has announced a major relief for foreign nationals stranded in the United Arab Emirates. 

Authorities have announced a special 30-day grace period to ease the financial burden of those who were unable to leave the country on time due to the regional flight disruption. The special period, which began on June 10 and will run until July 9, will allow affected expatriates to leave the Emirates without any overstay fines or penalties, or to continue living and working there by validating their status on a new visa.

The authorities said that in March this year, the ICP took a humanitarian decision. Since February 28, those who were stranded due to the suspension of flights due to the regional situation in the Middle East have had their fines waived. Currently, stability has returned to the region, and air traffic is completely normal. As a result, the ICP has made it clear that this is the final opportunity for the affected people to regularize their status or leave the country, as the previous reason for the waiver no longer exists.

Expatriates will not have to go through any additional applications or complicated procedures to receive this humanitarian benefit. Those who wish to leave the Emirates can go directly to the airport, while those who wish to remain can change their status as normal. ICP urges all concerned to follow only their official communication channels and websites for any updated information or legal procedures and not to listen to any misleading information.
