A program titled 'On the Path of Independence' was organized by the Bangladesh Centre and Community Services in Toronto, Canada, to mark the 56th birth anniversary of Bangladesh. The program began with a deep respect for those martyrs whose sacrifices led to Bangladesh gaining a flag and independence.
This special event featured songs about the country, the glorious liberation war, freedom from the heroic freedom fighters, history, and a delightful cultural program.
The program began with a welcome speech by BCCS Director Mac Azad. Faizul Karim, Zakir Hossain, Asma Ahmed and others participated in the discussion. The program became lively with the audience filling the hall. The program was hosted by Aryan Haque and Shikha Akhtari. Azim Apurba spoke about this generation.
In the discussion, the speakers said, "Independence is our identity. The Liberation War is eternally bright in our consciousness. 71 is eternally awake in our consciousness."
Freedom fighter Dr. Shahidul Alam Khan reminisced about the Liberation War. Enamul Kabir and Jewel were instrumentalists. Music was performed by Suman Malik, Syeda Rukshana, and Bablu Haque.
Aditi Fauzia, Rana Islam, Farzana Moni, Anisa Lucky Hosne Ara Jemi, Marzia Mou were present in the poetry recitation. Kajal assisted on the tabla. The students of Biplob Kare participated in the dance.
The event concluded with a closing speech by BCCS President Shibu Chowdhury and the national anthem.
