Letter to Saudi Arabia seeking reasons for death sentence of two Bangladeshis

The Bangladesh mission was not informed of the death sentence handed down by Saudi authorities for two Bangladeshis accused of committing immoral acts in a mosque in Mecca. After the news came to the media, the Bangladesh Consulate in Jeddah has sought detailed information on the charges, cases, and court verdicts against the accused.

Officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Jeddah Consulate informed that the letter was sent to the Foreign Office in Jeddah on Thursday. 

An official at the Jeddah Consulate said that the embassy has not been informed of any diplomatic letter or information regarding the trial or execution of the two Bangladeshis who are being talked about in the media.

Saudi media reported the execution of two Bangladeshis, Nazrul Islam Abdul Basir and Sithi Akhtar, on Wednesday on charges of immoral acts inside a mosque in Mecca.
