Medical examinations for workers wishing to work in Malaysia will begin from October 31. The examinations can be conducted at approved medical centers. Any medical examinations conducted before this date will not be accepted and will not be processed for immigration clearance, the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment has said.

The ministry's directive states that the list of approved medical centers will be published on the website soon. Employees have been requested to keep abreast of the approved centers by checking the list published on the ministry's website. If any medical center fails to comply with the government's instructions, it will be removed from the list.

The directive also states that no medical center or recruiting agency will be able to conduct or get medical examinations of workers without the official instructions and approval of the ministry. The ministry has come to the notice of some brokers and unscrupulous agencies trying to take passports and money from workers by promising to conduct medical examinations without permission.

In this situation, employees have been warned not to hand over passports or money to anyone without confirming approval and not to respond to such offers.

Until further notice, agencies applying for BMET clearance must submit relevant documents and VDR visa documents for examination at an approved medical center.

The ministry also said that action will be taken against medical centers and recruiting agencies that violate government directives as per prevailing laws and regulations. In such cases, the activities of the medical center concerned may be closed, the recruiting agency's recruitment activities abroad may be suspended, and the ministry's approval may be revoked.

If you have information about illegal or unauthorized medical tests or such activities, you are requested to inform the ministry along with the date, place of the incident, name of the person or organization concerned, and evidence. For this, information can be sent to the email address secretary@probashi.gov.bd .

The ministry said that surveillance will continue to prevent such irregularities to protect the safety and interests of workers. The concerned workers, recruiting agencies and medical centers have been warned to follow the government instructions. This instruction will come into effect immediately in the public interest.
