National mourning today

A day of state mourning will be observed today on the death of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi. On this occasion, the national flag will be flown at half-mast in all government, semi-government, autonomous institutions, educational institutions, government and private buildings in the country and Bangladesh missions abroad. Following the news of Osman Hadi's death, the chief advisor to the interim government, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, announced a period of state mourning. The advisors to the interim government have expressed deep shock and condolences on the death of Osman Hadi. In separate condolence messages yesterday, they prayed for the forgiveness of the departed soul and expressed condolences to his family. Various government departments, political parties, organizations, and special individuals have expressed condolences. Home Affairs and Agriculture Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, in a condolence message, prayed for the forgiveness of the departed soul and expressed condolences to his family members. Information and Broadcasting; Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Water Resources Advisor Syeda Rizwana Hasan said, 'Hadi's uncompromising stance against injustice, injustice and oppression was a source of inspiration for democracy-loving people.' Land Advisor Ali Imam Majumder said, 'His role in contemporary political, social and cultural movements became a source of inspiration.' In addition, Fisheries and Livestock Advisor Farida Akhtar, Social Welfare and Women and Children's Affairs Advisor Sharmin S Murshid, and Special Assistant to the Principal Advisor in charge of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, Faiz Ahmed Tayyab, expressed their condolences. In the condolence message, the Bangladesh Election Commission said, 'Hadi was a loyal and fighting young voice of the country. His courage and patriotism are unforgettable.'

In a condolence message, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, "After the fall of the Awami dictatorial regime, the miscreants have been involved in the evil activities of gaining benefits through anarchy. The incident of the killing of Sharif Osman Hadi in their brutal attack is a manifestation of those evil activities." Mahmudur Rahman Manna, President of Nagorik Oikya, said, "Hadi was a brave, fearless patriot. His strong voice was showing Bangladesh a new dream."

Apart from this, Ameer of Islami Andolan Bangladesh Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim, Chairman of Amar Bangladesh Party (AB Party) Mujibur Rahman Manju and General Secretary Asaduzzaman Fuad, President of Dhaka Reporters Unity Abu Saleh Akon and General Secretary Mainul Hasan Sohel, President of Gana Adhikar Parishad Nurul Haque Nur, among others, expressed their condolences.
