A day of state mourning will be observed today on the death of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi. On this occasion, the national flag will be flown at half-mast in all government, semi-government, autonomous institutions, educational institutions, government and private buildings in the country and Bangladesh missions abroad. Following the news of Osman Hadi's death, the chief advisor to the interim government, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, announced a period of state mourning. The advisors to the interim government have expressed deep shock and condolences on the death of Osman Hadi. In separate condolence messages yesterday, they prayed for the forgiveness of the departed soul and expressed condolences to his family. Various government departments, political parties, organizations, and special individuals have expressed condolences. Home Affairs and Agriculture Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, in a condolence message, prayed for the forgiveness of the departed soul and expressed condolences to his family members. Information and Broadcasting; Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Water Resources Advisor Syeda Rizwana Hasan said, 'Hadi's uncompromising stance against injustice, injustice and oppression was a source of inspiration for democracy-loving people.' Land Advisor Ali Imam Majumder said, 'His role in contemporary political, social and cultural movements became a source of inspiration.' In a condolence message, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, "After the fall of the Awami dictatorial regime, the miscreants have been involved in the evil activities of gaining benefits through anarchy. The incident of the killing of Sharif Osman Hadi in their brutal attack is a manifestation of those evil activities." Mahmudur Rahman Manna, President of Nagorik Oikya, said, "Hadi was a brave, fearless patriot. His strong voice was showing Bangladesh a new dream."
