Shahjahan Sheikh elected as a member of the Advisory Council for State Assembly District-79

Democratic Party grassroots leader and community activist Mohammad Shahjahan Sheikh has been appointed to the advisory council of State Assembly District 79, which includes the South Bronx neighborhoods of Morrisania, Melrose, Claremont, and East Tremont in the Bronx, New York City. This information was revealed by the State Assembly District on December 6.

Shahjahan Sheikh, a son of Kapasia in Gazipur, has been living in the Bronx with his family for a long time. In recognition of his special role in community service, he is a member of the Bronx Community Board-1 and serves as the chairman of its Immigration Committee. At the same time, he continues to play a crucial role in the healthcare of the immigrant community as a member of the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation Board.
