Five Bangladeshi-American officers have been promoted to the New York City Police Department (NYPD) in the United States.

Commissioner Jessica Teach officially presented the certificates to the officers promoted to the agency, including them, at NYPD headquarters on Friday morning.

At that time, he welcomed the promoted officers and urged them to work more responsibly to keep the city safe.

Earlier, Commissioner Jessica Teach attended the promotion ceremony with top NYPD officials.

The ceremony began with the American national anthem. The police commissioner then presented certificates to each of the NYPD's promoted officers.

Two of the five Bangladeshi-American police officers who were promoted from sergeant to lieutenant were Sheikh Ahmed and Mohammed Ahmed.

In addition, police officers Mohammad Shoaib and Mohammad Ali were promoted to the rank of sergeant, and Mainul Hasan to the rank of detective.

The Police Commissioner gratefully recalled the role of the families of the promoted officers, as well as their responsibilities.

He also said that this is the first Memorial Day in the 32-year history of the city where there has been no gun attack.

Bangladeshi American Police Association-BAPA President Sergeant Detective Squad Ershadur Siddique, Vice President Captain AKM Alam, and Secretary Detective Rasekur Malik attended the ceremony and congratulated and wished the Bangladeshi officers who were promoted.
